Assessment and Reporting

Children will get a raw score (the actual number of marks they get) will be converted into a scaled score to decide if they have met the expected standard which is set by the Department of Education.

The range of scaled scored available for each KS2 test is:

80-99 – Working below the national Expected Standard

100-110 – Working at the Expected Standard

111-120 – Exceeding the Expected Standard (Greater Depth)

Children’s results will be published on their end of year reports.

The secondary school your child is moving to will also be able to access your child’s result. This helps them support the transition process.

There are no tests for English writing or Science. These subjects will be reported as teacher assessment judgements. Teachers will make this judgement based on your child’s overall work and performance in the subject.

English writing may be moderated by the local authority. This is a collaborative process between school and a local authority moderator, to ensure judgements are consistent with national standards.
