Ambition, Achievement and Aspiration
Newington children are ambitious for themselves, achieve highly and have great aspirations for their futures. We work hard to teach our children that they can achieve their aspirations with hard work and the right support from school and home. They can achieve anything that they put their minds to because staff are continually thinking about their lives beyond Newington and how our school is enabling them to achieve move in the future. All staff recognise and value that all of our children get one chance at childhood and primary school and we are committed to making that the best chance it can possibly be.
We are committed to ensuring that Newington Community Primary School is a place where learning flourishes for all and we achieve this by:
- Ensuring all children access a broad, balanced, rich and aspirational curriculum from Foundation Stage to Year 6
- Encouraging our children to develop a love of learning and a curiosity about the world around them
- Supporting children to play and learn together as part of our school community, respecting each other's individuality and differences
- Supporting each child to develop an understanding of their position in the wider community, and the wider world, so that they understand they can be vehicles for change and the importance of being positive contributors to society
- Helping children to understand the importance of responsibility, self-discipline and making good choices, ensuring that all children learn to embrace mistakes as part of learning and life.
