Pupil Premium
Schools receive additional funding called The Pupil Premium. This is allocated to schools to support the progress and development of children coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. Schools are required to share with their communities how they plan to spend this money to ensure that it benefits the children who need it the most. Our strategy is at the bottom of the page and outlines the funding we receive and how this is allocated to support learning in the classroom.
PE and Sport
In March 2013 the government announced that it was to provide funding of £150 million per year to improve provision of PE and sport, in Primary schools, in England. This is known as the PE and Sport Premium. The funding is ring-fenced and can only be spent on provision for PE and sport in school. We want to funding to make a sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport that we offer to our children. Find out how we spend the PE and Sport Premium at Newington by clicking on the funding statement at the bottom of the page.
